Fabricland in Walkley Road is a great place to go for your fabric needs since it has a wide variety of fabrics, threads, and notions. We also love that the staff there is quite knowledgeable and helpful.
We are particularly impressed that Fabricland has a membership program called Sewciety wherein their customers can get discounts on different kinds of threads. There are even promotions for ordinary shoppers but sadly, they’re not always available.
Another great thing about this fabric shop is its DIY shop where you can take classes on sewing, embroidery, quilting, etc. Fabricland has fun workshops that even children may join.
The fabric options it offers are also a highlight. The shop has many options including choices of thread colors as well as patterns.

C&M Textiles was established in 1948. It’s one of the oldest fabric shops in Ottawa. The shop is located in Merivale Road and offers an excellent selection of fabrics, notions, and patterns.
What caught our attention the most with C&M Textiles is its fabric covers. The shop offers fabric covers that fit any kind of room that you may have at home.
It is able to provide fabrics that can match your wallpaper or your room’s theme. It’s a great choice for people who have trouble matching colors or prints.
The staff is able to offer assistance and they have a guide book that they can show customers for design inspirations.
The shop offers velvet options that are perfect for luxurious furniture pieces or drapes. It also has a decent range of cotton fabrics that can be used for curtains or tablecloths.
Another great thing about C&M is that it provides installation services for the big fabrics that it has for sale. These include curtains, piano covers, and more.
