Experience the Magic of the Water Lantern Festival in Ottawa on August 9, 2025
Get ready for a summer to remember! The Water Lantern Festival is coming to Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa on Saturday, August 9, 2025, bringing great vibes, delicious food, and feel-good music.
The festival kicks off at 5:30 PM, but you won’t be floating lanterns until 8:30 PM. We always like to arrive early to these events, so we can find a comfortable spot to set up our picnic blanket.
Every city is a bit different, but in Ottawa, you’ll be able to bring your own food and drinks, but not alcohol. We’ll be packing a nice picnic spread just in case the lines at the food trucks get too long.

Tickets include admission to the festival, a lantern kit, and an entry to the scavenger hunt giveaway. You’ll also leave with a goodie bag packed with card games and a drawstring bag.
If you buy tickets now until Saturday, July 19, you can get a 46% discount. After that, they cost $47.99, and on the day of the event (that is, if tickets don’t sell out), they cost $67.99.
