Celebrate Ottawa’s Cultural Diversity with a Fashion Show and Culinary Competition on September 20, 2025
Get ready for a fun-filled Saturday at the 2025 Ottawa Cultural Festival. On September 20, you can meet the diverse communities that make up our city, share your culture, and explore everyone else’s.
At the Maison de la Francophonie d’Ottawa, the festival kicks off at 10 AM with a Creative Market and Exhibition Fair. If you’re coming early, be sure to stick around for the main program, which starts at 1 PM.
After the parade and opening performances, you can attend an hour-long conference about cultural identity. There will be brief talks about intangible heritage, cultural representation, creativity in a migratory context, and more.
What we’re looking forward to the most is the Culinary Competition, featuring chefs from 8 local restaurants. Each contestant will make a signature dish from the country they represent and share their story behind it. Then, we get to vote for our favorite.

The fun doesn’t stop there. After the award ceremony, you can watch a fashion show, traditional dances, and a live performance by Cameroonian rapper Ko-c.
