Everyone’s thrilled as Ottawa gears up for the upcoming Canada Day Celebrations.

The ambiance in the city is becoming more festive as July 1, 2024 draws nearer, with an increasing sense of anticipation and excitement.

And just in case anyone forgets, the sight of people wearing Canada Day shirts on the streets will serve as a stark reminder!

With Parliament Hill currently undergoing exciting modernizations, the main stage for Canada Day celebrations will be at LeBreton Flats.

Nevertheless, there will also be events held at Parliament Hill and in Old Hull.

The festivities at LeBreton Flats are expected to start at 9 AM, with a ceremony scheduled by noon.

All day long, the area will host a variety of activities suitable for all ages, drawing visitors far and wide.

The schedule features speeches, reflections from Indigenous perspectives, and a ceremony commemorating Canadian athletes who are set to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

All eyes will also be on a flyover by the Royal Canadian Air Force.

And just in case hunger strikes, there will be plenty of food!

In the evening, a concert from 8 to 10 PM promises excitement. For those seeking a breathtaking display, be sure to stay until 10 PM to catch the fireworks.

Some things to keep in mind: There will be road closures to accommodate the festivities.

For those driving, street closures start at 6 PM on the day and last until 2 AM the next day.

But for pedestrians, public transportation is free—leave your cars at home and enjoy the day!
