One of the nicest Gas Station locations in the city

“One of the nicest Gas Station locations in the city. I work in the area, so it is a short commute. They also offer a competitive mobile rewards program, that lets you collect points, and redeem them for up to 10¢ off per litre on fuel. The convenience store is modern and large. You can find anything from coffee, to snacks and beverages. Unfortunately, I do not recommend purchasing anything from the Tim Hortons location. I’ve had poor experiences with stale food. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend anyone to stop by!” — FamSquad Media, Google Review

Always the best price in the city

“Always the best price in the city. And it’s always so busy but because of the amount of pumps and the efficiency of the amazing staff, it runs so smoothly. Love this location, staff are always super friendly and no matter the time of day they have a solid amount of staff, unlike other gas stations that put one person behind the cash overnight. Great location even if it is a bit out of the way. Traffic into Trainyards can be frustrating but this station is the best with the friendliest staff in the city. Thank guys!” — Nick J, Google Review

4. Petro-Canada

Phone: (613) 226-1219

Business hours: Mon – Sun: Open 24 hours

Instagram

Website

Petro-Canada is a gas station chain that bleeds maple syrup, so to speak. Owned by Suncor, they’ve been around since 1975, representing Canada from coast to coast.

Their Petro-Points program lets you rack up points on gas and in-store purchases, which you can redeem for sweet rewards. Their app makes earning points even easier (and lets you activate car washes at some locations, which is handy).

They’re not just about filling your tank—they have convenience stores with ATM machines and a decent selection of snacks and travel essentials. And they carry diesel and DEF for those who need it.

Keep in mind, however, that not all of their locations have car washes, so you might need to do a quick app check before you get your suds on. On the bright side, they offer both soft cloth and touchless washes.

Note that we encountered some slightly unfriendly staff members.

Pros

  • Founded in 1975
  • Petro-Points program
  • Offers gift cards
  • Convenience stores with ATM
  • Carries diesel and DEF

Cons

  • Reports of surly workers

Beyond fuel, we saw that their spacious convenience stores are generally clean and well-stocked. Plus, the holy grail for many Canadians—a Tim Hortons is attached to many Esso stations, providing that crucial coffee fix and breakfast options.

Bonus points for their consistently clean restrooms—a welcome relief for anyone on a long journey.

Esso caters to a variety of vehicles, offering multiple gasoline grades, including higher-octane options for performance-oriented cars. Diesel users are also well-served, with both regular diesel and Synergy Diesel Efficient available.
