Where to Find the Top 3 Vantage Points for Iconic Ottawa, Canada Skyline Views
My friends from out of town came to visit me a few weeks ago, and I wanted to impress them with the best views Ottawa has to offer, along with other local delights, of course.
Anyway, I’m talking about those moments like the one in the animated movie Tangled, where Rapunzel sees the floating lanterns for the first time and is completely mesmerized.
So, what do I do? I combed the city inside and out until I uncovered the top spots that really deliver.
These are the places that turned my quest into a success and made me the hero of my friend group! So, if you’re ready to impress your pals or just want to find the best spots to snap those stunning skyline shots, stick around!

Andaz is a 4-star hotel that guarantees exceptional stay in a luxurious setting. While staying here is guaranteed to be extraordinary, you don’t need to do so in order to enjoy the dazzling city skyline.
Simply hop on the elevator to the rooftop lounge, Copper Spirits and Sights cocktail bar, and grab a seat on the patio.
Order a few cocktails, and voilà! You’re all set to soak in the gorgeous views of Ottawa.
Here’s a tip: this location is especially enchanting during sunset, so be sure to stay until then.
2. Rideau Canal

Renowned for being Ottawa’s iconic destination, Rideau Canal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers some truly striking views of the city.
Not only that, this 202-kilometer stretch is packed with a multitude of outdoor activities to indulge in, including skating, canoeing, and even fishing, making it a popular destination for those who love exploring the city’s natural beauty.
While there are plenty of viewpoints along the canal to admire the Ottawa skyline, my favorite is always going to be the bridge that connects Parliament Hill to Major’s Hill Park.
Rideau Canal is truly one of those spots that’s quintessentially Ottawa, just like its neighbor, the Parliament Hill.
3. Twenty Two at the Westin

TwentyTwo at the Westin is the hotel’s premier event space.
That said, it also doubles as a charming upscale restaurant, offering guests not only exquisite dining and handcrafted beverages but also unparalleled 270º views of Parliament Hill, the Ottawa River, and the Gatineau Hills.
Also, side note: this made me remember my first visit. It felt like I was dining in the sky, with a view straight out of a postcard.
