Find out where local thrill-seekers gather for heart-pounding tobogganing adventures in Ottawa!

I’m the kind of person who’s always up for a thrill, especially when it involves adrenaline. And during the winter months, tobogganing is my jam!

I once convinced my friend to try tobogganing down a “gentle” hill, only to find out it was steeper than a ski slope! Let’s just say, we both ended up in a pile of snow with egos and knees slightly bruised.

With this guide, you don’t have to go through the same embarrassing (and perhaps unsafe) experience as my friend and I had because I’m uncovering the best places where local thrill-seekers gather.

These spots offer promising adrenaline-pumping rides and snowy adventures for thrill-seekers of all ages. Yes, even kids are welcome here (well, in some spots at least—more on that later!).

Water Baker Park is an enchanting destination in Stittsville all year round for its wide open spaces, verdant landscapes, and exciting play structures.

During the winter season, it becomes a renowned attraction for its Tobogganing Hill, attracting adventure seekers who want to try their hand at this exhilarating sport.

Because of its gently sloping hills, it’s the perfect starting ground for beginners – even kids can enjoy tobogganing safely and with excitement!

Carlington Park might just be the most popular spot for tobogganing in Ottawa, especially among folks who’ve had their fair share of experiences with challenging slopes.

The hill is huge, ensuring a smooth and exhilarating glide when you take the plunge! If adrenaline-pumping slopes are what you seek, you’ll find that here without a doubt – and heck, you might even spot me enjoying the ride.

With that in mind, kids might want to sit this one out.

Address: 175 Cedarview Rd, Nepean
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday – 7 AM to 11 PM

Bruce Pit is a picturesque dog park where local dog owners usually take their pups out to play. But, of course, to thrill seekers, it’s a popular destination for tobogganing.

I’ve seen a lot of families bring their kids here because of the gentle slopes and safe environment for winter fun. It’s safe, and even those who seek something exhilarating can find that kick of excitement.

Just note that the tobogganing hill is located in the northern area of the parking lots.
