I remember the last time I attended this car show; as you can expect, it was one of my favorite events of that year!
And since I got to attend it before, let me tell you everything you need to know before going to the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show!
When is the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show?
The 2023 Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show starts on September 15 (Friday) until September 17 (Sunday).
Where is the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show?
On September 15, the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show will be held at Forest Park, 400 N Locust St, Ottawa, KS 66067. The Saturday night cruise on September 16 will then take place at Main Street from Tecumseh Street to 7th Street.
What to Expect from the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show in Ottawa
During the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show, you can expect a lot of vintage cars, vendors selling automotive-related products, food stalls, and great music. There’s also going to be plenty of opportunities to make new friends while having fun!
Friday Night Cruise-In
On September 15, the organizers are inviting cars of all models, whether it’s a model made before or after 1972, for a night of fun at Forest Park. Friday night will also be the first opportunity to register for the car show if you missed pre-registration.
The event will start at 5:00 PM up until 9:00 PM, but if you’re just looking to register for the car show, it starts from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on that day.
Saturday Night “Back to the 60’s” Cruise Night
Just imagine it, revving engines, gleaming chrome, and a showcase of automotive history – the Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show promises a thrilling experience for all!
And for a lot of folks, the Saturday night cruise is the highlight of the entire car show, and for a good reason too!
So if you want to join the event, simply register at the visitor center (2011 E K68 Hwy or I-35 & K68 Hwy Exit 187) by 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 16th. Registration kicks off at 6:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM.
Another thing to look forward to is that Ottawa is exclusively allowing registered car show participants to cruise along Tecumseh Street to 7th Street that night.
And if you get hungry during the event, food vendors have already set up shop on the courthouse lawn.
Classic tunes will fill the airwaves, and numerous stores will extend their hours into the evening, making it feel like you’re living in one of the iconic scenes of American Graffiti!
