When did Westboro Beach reopen?

Westboro Beach had partially reopened as of May 2023 after the National Capital Commission (NCC) closed the beach earlier that year to redevelop the area.

Take note that the section of Westboro Beach that had been opened is unsupervised, meaning that there are no lifeguards on duty. 

Visitors are advised to swim in water at their own risk, especially as the waters in this area are also untested. 

Is it safe to swim on Westboro beach?

There is no guarantee to your safety if you decide to swim at the opened area of Westboro Beach, because there is no lifeguard, nor is the water tested.

If you still decide to take a dip in the water, just be aware of the possible dangers.

Is there an entrance fee to Westboro Beach?

Where can I park at Westboro Beach?

Currently, the parking lot at Westboro Beach is closed as it is under construction. However, you can still use public parking at the corner of Lanark and Kirchoffer Avenue.

The beach can be accessed through the Lanark underpass.

When is the best time to visit Westboro Beach?

The best time to visit Westboro Beach is during summer, from June to August when the weather is perfect for soaking up some sun and outdoor fun!

How do I get to Westboro Beach?

Westboro Beach is located at 745 Ottawa River Parkway. You can get there via Wellington St and Kichi Zībī Mīkan W, which is the fastest route by private car.

You can also get to Westboro Beach by taking the OC Transpo Bus to Churchill/Lanark, Churchill/Scott, or the Westboro Off-Only bus stop.
