The 12 Best Stittsville Takeout Spots Serving Irresistibly Tasty Creations

Stittsville may be a suburban gem, but when it comes to food, it’s full of surprises.

Whenever my friends and I have get-togethers, we always come here because they just have incredible takeout options—just a stone’s throw away from each other.

Since they have everything from homemade pasta and smoked meats to sushi, there’s a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy.

If you, too, want grub from the best takeout spots in Stittsville, here’s a little guide that should help.

1. Cabotto’s

Location: 5816 Hazeldean Rd

Operating hours:

Tue-Thu, 4 PM to 9 PM

Fri-Sat, 4 PM to 10 PM

Phone: +16135923097

Must-have: Rack of Lamb

Cabotto’s is one of the best Italian restaurants in Stittsville. Although I love having a special intimate dinner at this neighborhood gem, I wouldn’t mind grabbing takeout when I prefer having a more leisurely meal at home.

Their homemade pastas are a crowd favorite. But if you’re craving something hefty and indulgent, try their rack of lamb or fillet mignon, which are always cooked to your preferred doneness, every time.

To grab regular takeout, you can call or order from their website. However, they only accept online orders until 4 PM, so if you’re having late-night cravings, call them up instead.

Pro Tip:

If you want food delivered right to your doorstep, you’ll find them on DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Skip the Dishes.

2. Sushi Sama

Location: 1261 Stittsville Main St Unit 10

Operating hours:

Mon-Sat, 11 AM to 9 PM

Sun, 4 PM to 9 PM

Phone: +16137209995

Must-have: Volcano Rolls

Sushi Sama is one of the best sushi spots in Stittsville (sushi Stittsville). They serve authentic Japanese rolls, but you can also get trendy fusion flavors and exclusive Chef’s Specials.

The Pizza Explosion is one such example, which is more of a stack than a roll. It has crispy sushi rice as the base with toppings like tuna tartare, fish roe, creamy avocados, and torched salmon.

While I do like trying out their new creations, my go-to takeout orders are usually their assorted plates. You can get 10 to 88 pieces of sushi in different combinations, perfect for sharing with friends and loved ones.

Pro Tip:

Don’t miss out on their poke bowls. They have different protein options, including edamame, spicy salmon, caviar, and shrimp tempura.

3. Kung Fu Bistro

Location: 1110 Carp Rd #150

Operating hours:

Mon-Fri, 11 AM to 9 PM

Sat-Sun, 3 PM to 9 PM

Phone: +16138316808

Must-have: General Tao Chicken

Kung Fu Bistro is a one-stop shop for all your Asian food cravings. They have everything from Szechuan beef and wonton soup to pad Thai and sushi.

If you want a healthy, well-balanced meal, go for their combos. My favorite is Combo 142, which has a hefty, spicy serving of General Tao Chicken, beef with mixed veggies, fried rice, and egg rolls.

I recommend getting their specials for dinners with two or more people. Whether you order the Thai, Chinese, or fusion specials, you’ll have more than four dishes per order—but you can’t substitute any of them.

Pro Tip:

You can order from their website and have your food delivered to your address. It’s quick, easy, and hassle-free!

Phone: +16138365622

Must-have: Fish and Chips

The Glen is a cozy spot in Stittsville, offering hearty, comforting Scottish dishes such as haggis, steak pie, and fish and chips.

My favorite is their Scotch Egg, a hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, breaded and deep-fried to golden perfection. It’s crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside, perfect for a light midday pick-me-up.

They also have one of the best fish and chips in Ottawa. They offer an incredible variety of options, pan-seared, panko-breaded, and beer-battered fillets, served in hefty portions that will surely fill you up.

Pro Tip:

If you can’t choose between panko-breaded and signature batter fillet, get them both by ordering The Glen’s Mcconoville Special.

5. The Keg Steakhouse and Bar

Sun, 4 PM to 8:30 PM

Must-have: New York Striploin

When you want to treat yourself to an indulgent meal but aren’t in the mood to dress up and dine out, The Keg Steakhouse is a spot you must try. They are known across the country for their premium meats.

Their New York Striploin, BBQ pork ribs, and fillet mignon are a cut above many places and worth the splurge. Tender and packed with flavor, they can satiate your cravings and fill you up.

And save room for dessert! They offer incredible seasonal treats, which are made with fresh, locally sourced fruits.

Pro Tip:

Upgrade your sides to grilled jumbo shrimp and lobster tails for a satisfying surf and turf meal.

6. Jojo’s Pizzeria

Website: http://www.jojospizza.ca/

Location: 1573 Stittsville Main St

Operating hours:

Sun, 10 AM to 10 PM

Mon-Tue, 10 AM to 11 PM

Wed-Sat, 10 AM to 12 AM

Phone: +16138362210

Must-have: BBQ Chicken Pizza

Jojo’s Pizzeria is the go-to place for handcrafted, stone-baked pies served Ottawa-style. It’s hearty but not too doughy, and then has a lump of dough in the middle instead of a little table to hold up the box.

While I love a simple pepperoni, mushroom, and bacon pizza, I also like ordering from their globally-inspired menu like BBQ Chicken and Tuscan Sun. Whenever I can’t choose a specific flavor, I order the half-and-half to get both.

Another reason why I like this spot is they cater to different dietary restrictions. At your request, they can make your pizza gluten-free or dairy-free.

Pro Tip:

Watch out for their weekly specials to get affordable deals on pizza, shawarma, and more.

7. Napoli’s Cafe

Website: http://www.napoliscafe.com/

Location: 1300 Stittsville Main St

Operating hours:

Lunch, Tue-Fri 11:30 AM to 3 PM

Dinner, Sun 5 PM to 9 PM, Mon-Sat 5 PM to 10 PM

Phone: +16138367722

Must-have: Marsala Pollo

Napoli’s Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Stittsville. Although they’ve been around for decades, they are still a local favorite. Everyone keeps going back for special celebrations, private events, or takeout nights!

They serve a wide range of dishes, but the bulk of their menu consists of Italian. Whether you’re getting their homemade ravioli or their Marsolo Pollo, they stay faithful to the authentic recipes and flavors.

Pro Tip:

Order a side of garlic bread with cheese to go with your pasta. It’s crispy, cheesy, and the perfect complement to any meal.

8. Mr. Shawarma

Media credit: mrshawarmaottawa

Website: http://mrshawarma.ca/

Location: 5517 Hazeldean Rd

Operating hours: Daily 11 AM to 10 PM

Phone: +16138310333

Must-have: Chicken Shawarma

Mr. Shawarma is a hidden gem, where you’ll find shawarma wraps and plates, kebabs, felafels, and other Middle Eastern dishes. It’s a great takeout spot, especially when you’re ordering for a large group.

Here, the Chicken Sandwich is always tender, perfectly spiced, and juicy, which is why it’s a crowd favorite. The shawarma platter is a more filling alternative because it replaces the wrap with a plate of rice.

Whether you prefer the wrap or the platter, it’s an ideal grab-and-go meal. Since they can prepare and pack everything in a jiffy, you get fast food minus the guilt.

Pro Tip:

If you’re grabbing takeout for a group, order their family set, which can serve up to 5 adults. Aside from your protein of choice, it has rice, garlic potatoes, 6 pieces of pita bread, hummus, and salad.

9. Edo Japan

Website: https://www.edojapan.com/

Location: 1250 Stittsville Main St C08

Operating hours: Daily 10 AM to 10 PM

Phone: +13435452888

Must-have: Tiger Rolls

Another fast food chain that serves good takeout is Edo Japan. They have authentic and fusion dishes, ranging from Teriyaki Chicken and Sukiyaki Beef to Vegetable Ramen.

Although small, their sushi selection is still pretty solid. They serve trendy favorites like California and Beef Rolls, as well as non-meat alternatives like Avocado and Cucumber Rolls.

For a balanced, well-proportioned, and budget-friendly meal, get their Bento Boxes. It comes with rice, stir-fried mixed veggies with your protein of choice, and side dishes, such as shrimp tempura, sushi, or gyoza.

Pro Tip:

Watch out for their weekly deals so you can save a few bucks when you order from their app or website.

10. Scratch Box Gastro Truck

Media credit: bigdsdoghouseandpoutine

Website: https://www.scratchboxgastro.com/

Location: 1280 Stittsville Main St

Operating hours: Tue-Sat 11 AM to 7 PM

Phone: +16134074264

Must-have: Double Scratch Burger

Scratch Box is a popular food truck, serving comfort food on the go. They’re known for their rotating menu, which changes with the seasons and highlights the freshest ingredients available in the region.

However, one thing you can expect year-round is good burgers. My favorite is the Smoked Brisket—tender, a little sweet, and tangy, so it pairs well with the crisp, salty fries.

Although it’s too much for me to take on solo, the Double Scratch Burger is also quite good. They often do different iterations of this, where they stack multiple patties together along with generous amounts of tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese.

Pro Tip:

All their sandwiches come with a side of fries and a water bottle. You can also opt to upgrade your side of fries to poutine for an extra $3.

11. Smokin R&R’s BBQ

Media credit: smokinrrs

Website: http://smokinrrs.ca/

Location: 1441 Stittsville Main St

Operating hours: Wed-Sun 11 AM to 7 PM

Phone: +16138503242

Must-have: St. Louis-style Ribs

For weekend get-togethers or potlucks, Smokin R&R’s barbecue and award-winning poutine are a must. Your options include beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and salmon.

Their lobster, whether in a sandwich or poutine, is amazing—but prepare to spend a little extra because it’s not cheap.

Here, they use apple wood to smoke their meats and veggies. It adds a mildly sweet and fruity flavor to the dish, giving it that extra oomph.

Pro Tip:

You can place orders for pick-up 48 hours in advance. You have to check in 24 hours prior to pick up to confirm the order.

12. NeXT

Media credit: nextottawa

Website: http://www.nextfood.ca/

Location: 6400 Hazeldean Rd

Operating hours:

Brunch, Sun 10 AM to 1 PM

Dinner, Daily 5 PM to 9 PM

Phone: +16138368002

Must-have: Warmed Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble

NeXT has a globally-inspired menu featuring beef Thai lettuce wraps, char siu pork belly bao buns, ribeye tartare, and more.

Compared to other spots, the takeout menu is quite small. Since you can’t modify the items on the menu, it will further limit the options for those with dietary restrictions.

What I do like about getting takeout here is their discounts. You can have your favorite dishes for a more affordable price.

Pro Tip:

Check out their dessert menu for seasonal treats.
