Located inside the Village Square Park is another family-friendly farmers’ market that offers an assortment of goods.

Here, we enjoy replenishing our stocks of grass-fed meats and other exciting delicacies. While the vendor list may seem arbitrary, you’ll most likely come across a metaphysical shop, real estate services, locally brewed craft beers, and such.

Do note, however, that they’re not open all year round. To check if they’re open at the time of your visit, make sure to take a peek at their website

CARP Farmers’ Market prides itself on being a vast market with a lot of vendors selling a variety of items.

We highly suggest spending three to four hours if you plan on having the best experience during your visit. You can expect to purchase fresh produce, soaps, honey, organic goods, and more.

If you get hungry, there are a lot of food vendors to choose from.

Like the previous farmers’ market, they’re only open seasonally. As of the moment, the next opening day is May 4, 2024. For more information, feel free to give their website a visit.

Nestled in one of our favorite Ottawan neighborhoods, Kanata Farmers’ Market is another delightful spot to explore. With a myriad of vendors offering a curious collection of goods, visitors will have no problem indulging in fine, local offerings.

Need to stock up on some groceries? You might just find everything you need here such as honey (a popular farmers’ market staple), eggs, fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and jams.

You can be assured that the products are fresh and of good quality, coming straight from the vendors themselves.

6. Parkdale Market

Website: https://parkdalepublicmarket.ca

Address: 366 Parkdale Ave, Ottawa, ON K1Y 1G8, Canada

Contact details: +1 613-244-4410

Considered one of the oldest markets in Ottawa, Parkdale Market is a well-known spot among locals, especially those who frequent the west end. In fact, this market has been around since 1924!

Before you plan your trip, do note that they’re only open from May to November. But here’s a silver lining: you can catch them every day from 9 AM to 5 PM during those months.

Plus, it’s also fun seeing how their offerings change every season. For example, during spring, expect a lot of opportunities to purchase flowers, bedding plants, and other seasonal produce.

As for the summer season, you’ll witness exciting sights of maple syrups!

Here’s some extra fun: there are also plenty of things to discover around the area, making the neighborhood a bit of a hub for arts and food.

7. Main Street Farmers’ Market

Contact details: +1 613-818-2470

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday, and Sunday – closed
  • Saturday – 9 AM to 1 PM

Main Street Farmers’ Market is an Ottawan hidden gem, tempting us to keep it in the shadows!

Its unpopularity is most likely because of it being on a smaller scale, but we were able to get plenty of good deals and purchase interesting products, including a handmade Persian rug.

If you want to avoid crowds, this one’s undoubtedly one of your best bets. We really adored its upbeat vibe, and the tight-knit community adds a welcoming touch, fostering an interesting atmosphere that brings people closer together.

You can expect to see a lot of fresh produce, ready-to-eat meals, flowers, cheese, pastries, and more.
