Sep 9-11, 2022: Ottawa Comiccon Returns to the EY Centre

Due to the threats brought by COVID-19, fiction fans in Canada’s capital were prevented from mingling over their interests for a couple of years. Now that the pandemic has become more manageable, Ottawa Comiccon returns.

From Sep. 9-11, 2022 at the EY Centre, lovers of comic books, anime, video games, horror, and sci-fi can once again come together. For three days, fans get the chance to meet some of their fantasy fiction artists, along with renowned film and TV personalities.

Packed with various activities, attendees can pose and take snapshots with their idols, buy original art, and get autographs. There will also be photo-ops, workshops, and conference sessions to discuss just about anything — from comics to hit shows.

This 2022, Ottawa Comiccon will have celebrity guests from different fields. These include voice actors such as Maurice LaMarche and Rob Paulsen from movies like Pinky & The Brain and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Among others include Denise Crosby of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Tomer Capone of When Heroes Fly, and Cary Elwes of Stranger Things and Robin Hood: Men in Tights

There might be more, so make sure to stay tuned and check their website for additional announcements.

For collectors, Ottawa Comiccon might just be the place you’re looking for. As the event will showcase hundreds of specialized retailers, you might just find some incredible items that will interest you.

There will be vintage comics, some rare toys, and even some unique costumes and jewelry for keeps. Since the chances of finding great items are high, we recommend bringing your wallet!

The best part is that attendees can go to the event dressed as their favorite characters from comics, anime, manga, films, or games.

Costume club members of the Rebel Alliance, the Doctor Who Society of Canada, and the Capital City Garrison 501st Legion will be there, too. So the crowd will be left with nothing but awe.

On Saturday, September 10, the cosplay madness will reach its peak at the Masquerade, where the fiercest cosplayers will face off onstage. Together with hundreds of fans, judges from across the globe will choose the best in this epic costume competition.

Ottawa Comiccon will have a little bit of everything for everyone. While extroverts can pursue meeting new people while taking pictures with some cosplayers and fellow fans, others can get preoccupied with some artwork, costumes, and other merch you can buy.

We are looking forward to seeing a bunch of diverse individuals having fun and sharing their common interests with others at Comiccon. Two years have been long enough, and we think that everyone deserves to have fun at this event.

For those who are planning to attend the Ottawa Comiccon event, tickets are currently available at www.ottawacomiccon.com. Kids 12 and under on Friday and Sunday can enter for free, but with a $6-charge on Saturday.

While the youth special (13-21 years old) is $13.58 on Friday ($20 at the door), general admission is $25, $39, and $29 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively.
